At Norrgården, we create memorial plaques in natural slate that capture these moments forever. Each plaque is engraved in our small family workshop in Motala, with the details that make it unique – a name, a date, a photo. The result is something to hang on the wall that stays for generations.
Christening Plaque in Slate with Photo
Our christening plaque in slate with photo is one of the creations we're especially fond of. The photo is placed in the centre and framed by the child's name, date of birth, time, weight and length – all engraved directly into the slate's dark surface. The contrast gives a soft and exclusive impression.
The plaque is round with a diameter of approximately 24 cm and can stand on an included table stand or be hung on the wall. Since slate is a natural material, every plaque is unique in colour and texture – just like the child it's dedicated to.
You choose what's engraved on the plaque. Common choices include:
- The child's first and last name
- Date and time of birth
- Weight and length
- Church or location of the christening
- A short greeting from a godparent or family member

For the couple who deserves something entirely their own. Our personalised wedding plaque in slate is engraved with names, date and symbols such as rings and roses – and with the message you choose.
The plaque measures 40×30 cm and rests in an elegant stand with walnut veneer. The natural structure of the slate means no two plaques are exactly alike – each couple receives a unique object.

What should you engrave?
A common question – and a fun part of the ordering process. Here are some ideas that usually land well:
- For a christening: "Welcome to the world, Elsa. Born 14 June 2026 at 08:42." Simple and timeless.
- For a wedding: The couple's names and date, a quote from the ceremony, or simply: "You belong to each other."
