There’s something special about the very first Christmas.
A bit like when you were a kid and opened the first window of your advent calendar on December 1st — that feeling of now it really begins.

Here in our little workshop in Sweden, Christmas preparations have been in full swing since summer. Yes, we may have brainstormed Christmas motifs while the lawn still needed mowing… but when you’re excited to share your very first holiday creations, it’s hard to wait.

This year marks our very first Christmas at Norrgården, and it feels both exciting and a little surreal — almost like we’ve been promoted to weekend elves. Elves with a laser machine, sawdust in our hair, and a steady supply of coffee within reach.

⭐ Our First Christmas — What a Journey

This year feels truly special for us. It’s the first time we get to fill our shop with Christmas magic, and we’ve been looking forward to this moment for a long time. Every creation has grown slowly throughout the year, idea by idea, and seeing them finally find new homes… well, it feels a bit like an early Christmas gift.

And yes — Christmas arrived early in our own house. Our tree has already been glowing through several late evenings so we could photograph all the creations in their proper holiday setting. Meanwhile, in the workshop, Christmas ornaments, coasters and rustic wooden trees line up like props in a little holiday story.

The scent of wood and sawdust mixes with glögg, gingerbread cookies and a pinch of anticipation.
This is exactly how we imagined our very first Christmas as a small family workshop would feel.
